Thousand of Brass Bands, only one website !
« Cuivre » . A french dictionnary definition includes ’copper’ and a ’conductor of electricity’. Add an « s » and it then means a set of kitchen utensils or brass instruments.
This augurs well for the birth and growth of our website which is dedicated to brass bands - groups in which it is not rare to find ordinary, warm-hearted people almost all of whom are fond of food and anxious to transmit the ‘electricity’ of their performance to the audience and make the instruments and their sounds sparkle.
It is this convivial spirit that runs through all our topics.
Our intention is to create a website where you can find information, communicate, share and exchange ideas.
On www.brassband.fr, you will find all the news about brass bands, their history, whether insignificant or important, presentations of many European brass bands, announcements about concerts and competitions, the latest innovations from instrument manufacturers, and a whole mine of interesting information.
Our forum « Le Café de brassband.fr » is open! All are welcome: people asking questions, people looking for good projects, pernickety scholars, lovers of contradiction, enthusiasts, critics, the resourceful, the layman, the undecided, the passionate… « Le Café de brassband.fr » is never closes.
www.brassband.fr will grow very quickly and become a database where you will be able to consult references to the works of the brass band repertoire or call for new works if you are looking for original music. You will also be able to discuss pieces or instruments, recruit a musician, a conductor, someone responsible for public relations, a treasurer... And it is not men-only of course. The brass band world is not sexist – many of the best players are women.
When bands, friends and partners give their permission, you will also have access to reports on concerts with photos and sound clips.
